Wide-Stave trunks were workhorses for many years. They sometimes had added elegance as with this beauty. There are two embossed floral patterns on the exterior. One pattern is on the top and four sides of the box. The other pattern is on the two end panels of the lid. Mechanically, the pattern was in excellent condition but most of the paint was missing so we've restored it in two colors to bring back the relief. The wide, heavy staves are hardwood with a nice grain. The lock still works and a solid brass key is furnished. Note the sole brass rivet on the upper half of the lock. We've replaced the handles with nice new double-stitched leather ones. Inside the lid is a nice lithograph of a lady that has been preserved. This is a fairly large trunk so it has quite a bit of lockable storage space and will fit in with just about any decor - foot of a bed, foyer, bay window, you name it. This is a fantastic piece from yesteryear and it won't be long before someone snatches it up, so if you like it as well as everyone here then give us a call, toll-free on 1-877-653-8786 or email us at TreasuredChests@oldtrunks.com and we'll have it professionally packed & on its way to your home within hours.
