Only the second Cedarobe we've ever had! The last one went from Treasured Chests to a cruise on the Queen Mary II! The Whittle Trunk & Bag Company in Knoxville, TN had a near monopoly on cedar wardrobe trunks and rightly so because they were so very well built and stylish. ALL the drawers and inside lining of the trunk are pure cedar, it even still smells like cedar! The drawers are immaculate inside with slight signs of wear and aging on the outside. The drawer fronts are covered in tapestry and cedar with nickle-plated pulls. All the hangers and presser bar are still there AND something very special - both the outside lock and the inside lock for the drawers still work and have keys! The shoe box is still there and even though it shows its age, it's been thoroughly cleaned just like the rest of the trunk. The locking mechanism for the drawers is unique. When the locking bar is inserted it holds the bottom drawers in place. When the top drawer is locked, none of the drawers can be opened.  Wardrobe trunks are very useful and functional; many that we've restored have ended up in bedrooms acting as a closet and chest of drawers. OR you can be adventuresome and book a passage on the QM II and take this one along! Just as with the last couple to do so, it would be the trip of a lifetime and take you back to the years of luxurious sea travel. It's much more affordable today than it was back then. This might be the silver lining to the high costs of jet fuel. This is a beautiful trunk so it probably won't stay in the Showroom long. Just give us a call, toll-free on 1-877-653-8786 or send us an email to TreasuredChests@oldtrunks.com and we'll have it professionally packed and on its way to you within hours.
